Cats for Adoption

Tony the Tiger was being surrendered to an over full shelter while we happened to be standing in the lobby so we took him home.

Tony is a sweet cat, but he is overwhelmed in his foster home and misses his previous owner. Tony is afraid of dogs, and would prefer a quiet inside home.

Tony is a young adult, approximately one to two years old.

He's been neutered, vaccinated, and has tested negative for Feline Leukemia and AIDS.

Adoption fee is $50

Sammy is a big, good-looking guy! He came to us when his person passed away. When she was ill, her biggest concern was that her Sammy would be thrown out in the street.

Luckily for Sammy, her next-of-kin followed through on her instructions and Sammy came to us. Sammy is approx 9 yrs old. Sammy can be aloof but does enjoy human company. Good with other cats too & doesn't seem concerned about the dogs. Sammy has been neutered & vaccinated & is ready for a new home of his own.

Harley was having some medical problems that caused him to "think outside the box" and his owner was having some medical problems of her own (kidney transplant) and could not keep up with him. Harley had an enlarged bladder & was cryptorchid (i.e. testes not desended.) He was neutered by our vet & the surgery seems to have corrected his bladder problem as well. Harley had a ouple of accidents when he moved into our cat room but has been great since. We think he is happiest with a clean litterbox (perhaps an automatic one?) or with a kitty friend (something he has here but didn't have at his previous home). We realize Harley will be harder to adopt out because of his past but hope that someone out there has a heart big enough to let this very friendly kitty in. Visit Harley at our new adoption center 1499 Flint Hill Rd, Landenberg PA 19350

Rusty (orange, 3 yrs old) & Apollo (tuxedo, 4 yrs old) are two very affectionate cats who were displaced from their home when the new baby was highly allergic. The family tried having them become outdoor cats but they didn't understand & were not happy. Rusty & Apollo want to be a part of your family - sit on the couch & watch TV etc. They both get along well with other cats and can be adopted separately or together (we would like to keep them together if possible but they would do fine if separated).

Adoption donation $50 for one or $75 for the pair.

Cheyenne is one of the many kittens living at our Adoption Center in Landenberg, PA. She was brought in by a man who found her in his yard one day - a hissing ball of fluff! Cheyenne has really come around & enjoys being petted & hanging out with the other kittens. She has received her first set of shots & will be spayed & tested for feleuk/aids by Christmastime. Can you give her a home for the holidays? Come visit her Wed-Sat 12-5 at our Adoption Center!

Colin & his brother Scaredy were found near a barn, no mother in sight. They were brought here but we were not successful in getting them socialized & they remain semi-feral. Currently about 6 months old. We are able to pat them when they are eating canned food (a treat they get twice a day) but otherwise they run. Colin is a beautiful silver tabby with white medium length hair & Scaredy has the same markings only short hair. If you are looking to adopt that special cat that no one else wants - congrats! You have just found two! These two guys need to be indoors or possibly in a barn-type home where they will continue to be fed by people (not fend for their own). They are attached to each other & we would like them to be able to stay together. Both kitties have been vaccinated, wormed, neutered, tested neg for FIV/Leukemia. They have been living with dogs & other cats. Email for more info. Colin & Scaredy are living in the lobby at our adoption center in Landenberg, PA if you would like to stop by & see them in purr-son.

Adoption donation $50 for the pair.

Casey was adopted from us some time ago & recently returned when he reacted badly to the second child being born. Perhaps Casey felt he wasn't getting the attention he deserves? Casey is now at our adoption center, learning to share the attention that is doled out to the multitude of cats there. He is a sweet guy & would like a quiet home, perhaps with an older person who is home most of the day. Casey is approx 7 yrs old. You may visit Casey at our Landenberg, PA adoption center.

Abby was found as a pregnant stray by a "little old lady" who offered to keep her if we could take the kittens (and spay the mom). Which we did - Tabu is one of her kittens. However when we went to return Abby, her finder was in the hospital and unable to take her back. So... Abby is here at our adoption center waiting for a home of her own. She is a friendly kitty - likes to beg at lunch time. Cute round face - the picture doesn't do her justice. Abby has been spayed, tested & vaccinated. Come see her in our cat room, email for more info or fill out an application.

Harry Potter is a big guy with stunning dark tabby & white markings. He was adopted as a young kitten by his family but one of the family members became allergic & now 6 yrs old Harry ended up at the SPCA. Understandably, Harry was totally stressed & did not show well so after a couple of months he came here. As you can see, he is getting some much needed R&R. Once he settles in Harry is good with other cats. He lived in a house with kids & should be fine in a regular family environment. Harry has been neutered, vaccinated & tested neg for fiv/leuk. Please see him in our cat room.

Gracie belonged to an elderly person who passed away. When no one came back for her she wandered down to the neighbors house and deposited her kittens in their garage. The neighbors were elderly themselves and unable to care for Gracie long-term but they made sure the kittens were taken care of and well-socialized before bringing the family to us. Gracie has been a wonderful Mom to her 5 own plus 3 orphan kittens. She is petite, very sweet and will be available mid-October after her spay surgery. She lived with a small dog & gets along well with the dogs at our adoption center. Protective of her kittens around other cats but is mellowing some & will probably be fine with other cats once the kittens are gone. UPDATE 10/8: It has now been a year since Gracie came to our adoption center - she is still awaiting her forever home. One of her kittens (now a young adult) Baby Z - is still looking for a home as well. Gracie is up to date on vaccinations and was tested (negative) for feleuk/aids & spayed.

Adoption donation $50. Gracie & Baby Z together $75.

Meghan came to us with her one tiny 3 day old kitten, Amos (who is currently in a foster home & now 6 months old). She is a very shy kitty & will need a quiet home with a family who has the patience for her to come around on her own terms. She is good with other cats but would probably come around faster in a home without too much competition. Tolerates dogs & has been exposed to many in our office. Meghan is approx 2 yrs old. She has been spayed & tested neg for leukemia & FIV and has been microchipped. Please fill out an application, email for more info or visit Meghan at our adoption center in Landenberg PA.

Adoption donation $50

Boots came to us about a year ago when his owner became homeless. They were living in a car. His feline friend, Bob, was adopted right away but Boots is still looking for his forever home. He is a handsome cat! Boots enjoys attention but I would not describe him as a lap cat. Her gets along well with other cats & seems fine with dogs as well. Boots has been neutered & vaccinated & is ready for a home of his own. He was an indoors only cat in his previous home so we are seeking the same. Come meet Boots at our Adoption Center in Landenberg PA or fill out an application.

Sadie is a sweet senior cat (12-14 yrs old) whose owner passed away. She looks much cuter in purrson - this picture does not do her justice! Sadie lived with two dogs and gets along well with the other cats in our cat room. She does have a heart murmur but we did a blood work-up which came back normal. Sadie has much love left to give - can you give her a warm & loving retirement home? Visit Sadie at our Adoption Center in Landenberg PA or fill out an application.

This is a courtesy listing for Luna. She needs to be an only kitty & would not do well in our cat room. If you are interested in Luna, please email for more info or fill out an application. All inquiries will be forwarded to her current family. Adoption is at the discretion of her family also

Hi, my name is Luna and I am 1 1/2 years old. I love to snuggle under covers and carry around my toy giraffe which is almost as big as me! I need to find a new home because I do not get along with the other cat in my household. Can you help me? My owner is willing to provide a vet credit for Luna's care and a large supply of prescription food (I have a very sensitive stomach). All my toys and bedding would come with me because I am comforted by familiar things. A home without other animals would be perfect for me. I am timid with new situations but am SUCH a cuddlebug once I get used to things. Fun facts about Luna - - My nickname is Luna Bug because I am such a snugglebug. - I love to eat any kind of vegetable. Green beans are a special treat. - I carry around a toy giraffe in my mouth. - I am only 8 pounds full grown and look like a large kitten. I am very petite. - I am spayed and up-to-date on shots. - I will snuggle under the covers with you on cold nights. - I have a black spot on my nose that looks like a smudge. Be careful...once you see me you will fall madly in love. Please help me find a home where I can be the only kitty.

Amos arrived here with his mother Meghan, just a few days old with his eyes still shut. Unfortunately it was "kitten season" and Amos was overlooked & practically grew up here. He is an outgoing kitten - in the "teenage" stage now. Loves to play & would do best in a home with cats. Raised with dogs also & has no fear of them. Amos has juvenile gingivitis and has been treated with antibiotics but will probably loose some of his teeth as he ages. Currently his back molars look fine but he has redness on his gum line in the front. This does not slow Amos down one bit & we hope it doesn't keep him from finding his forever home. Meet Amos at Concord Pet New London! Fill out an application or email for more info.

Humphrey was dumped at the SPCA by his owners of 15 yrs when they moved into an apartment that said "No Pets"! He is the sweetest, sweetest cat I have ever met. It does not look like he has had the best of care at his former home. He is skin & bones & light as a feather. His hair is matted & his eyes show old scars from where ulcers once were. He has sores in his mouth which are being treated with antibiotics. Our vet said they looked painful & to have such a sunny personality in spite of that makes him an exceptional cat. We are hoping that the antibiotics will clear up the condition but it is possible that it is a chronic thing & will only be able to be managed, not totally cured. Only time will tell. In the meantime, Humphrey is feeling better & eating up a storm! Humphrey gets along well with the other cats & does not seem to mind dogs. He is in the cat room of our Adoption Center & you can meet him there Wed-Sat 12-5. Please email for more info or fill out an application.

This is a courtesy listing for Montey's caregiver. Please contact her directly if interested in adopting Montey (contact info below). Adoption is at sole discretion of Montey's current caregiver.

Montey gave my grandparents many years of love and after my grandfather died he was my grandmother’s closest companion. Regrettably my grandmother passed away recently leaving Montey without his best friend and each of her next of kin have family members with severe cat allergies so we are looking for a loving home. Montey is a 12 year old black and white tabby, up to date on all of his shots, declawed and follows you around like a dog. He loves to snuggle up against you and hide under the covers. We will provide a vet credit and include all of Montey’s belongings. Please email Krista if you are interested at kminutel@yahoo.com.

Moochie is an affectionate little kitty. She is a beautiful steel gray color & resembles a Russian Blue. Moochie was a stray who befriended a senior couple & would routinely "mooch" for food. By the time they caught her, she was, unfortunately pregnant. Moochie delivered her kittens in a foster home last fall & during her stay there she was living with two young girls, a dog & other cats. Moochie's kittens have all found homes and now it is her turn. If you are looking for a loving cat that doesn't mind being picked up & snuggled then Moochie is for you! Come meet Moochie at our Adoption Center in Landenberg. You can fill out an application ahead of time or email for more info.

Bella is our resident attack kitty! If you are looking for an adventuresome girl with some cat-itude you will find it in Bella. She has been an indoor cat but would enjoy being indoor/outdoor if you live in a safe area or even a barn kitty. Bella loves chasing the laser pointer & would probably be a good mouser as well. She is not cuddley but seems to like being where the action is & hanging out with people. Bella is approx 1 1/2 yrs old. She can be bossy with other cats in the cat room but has pretty much lived with other felines her entire life. Tolerant of dogs. Bella has been spayed, vaccinated & tested neg for leukemia/FIV. Come meet Bella in our cat room or email for more info.

Adoption fee $50

This aptly named cat was found wandering the streets and was picked up by a concerned citizen. He is approx 5 yrs old & has had a tough life - walks with a limp to prove it. Rebel is also missing some hair on his hind end - our vet attributes it to compulsive grooming. Rebel is very outgoing & friendly but likes affection on his own terms. He is not a cuddle bug but but enjoys hanging out with people & will arch his back for a good rub. Rebel has been vaccinated, tested neg for feline leuk/FIV and was previously neutered. He would do well as an inside cat but would probably enjoy getting out on occasion if you live in a safe area or perhaps a screened in porch. Come meet Rebel at our Adoption Center or fill out an application.

Adoption fee $50

Mia is a very sweet 3 yr old, declawed kitty who was dumped at a barn when her owner fell on hard times. Never having been outside before, she was scared to death & disappeared for 3 weeks. When she reappeared, thin & missing hair, the barn owner scooped her up and brought her here. She is a very nice, calm cat & will make a lovely companion for some lucky person. Mia was previously spayed & has been vaccinated & tested neg for leukemia/FIV. Come visit Mia in our cat room or fill out an application.

Adoption fee $50

Naggedy is a sweet little kitty who showed up at someone's house about a year ago. The woman, who has an FIV positive cat living inside her house, could not take her in for that reason. However, she scooped Naggedy up, took her to the vet for vaccinations (it was discovered she was already spayed) and continued feeding her outside. Recently the woman had surgery on her foot & was to be wheelchair bound for a while so she would not able to care for Naggedy so she brought Nags to us. Naggedy is going to pick out her own person, we think. Some people she totally ignores & others she hops down from her perch & rubs & rubs against them. Naggedy is an inside cat here at our Adoption Center but she would probably like a home where she can go out & explore like she used to or at least view the outdoors from the safety of a screened in porch. Please fill out an application if you are interested in Naggedy.

Adoption fee $50

Puff-Puff is probably just a domestic medium hair kitty but she is similar to a Norwegian Forest Cat in looks. She showed up as a pregnant stray & was a good mommy to her kittens who have all found homes. Puff-Puff loves people & purrs contentedly when petted. She is approx 5-7 yrs old. She gets along well with other cats but is wary around dogs. Would be fine in a home with a calm dog. Good with kids. Inside home only. She has been vaccinated & tested negative for fiv/feleuk. Please fill out an application if you are interested in Puff.

Adoption donation $50.

Toby is a 6 yr old Maine Coon Cat who came to us when his senior owner could no longer care for him. He is HUGE! Toby weighs in at a little over 14 lbs and he is svelte at that weight. Tons of thick fur make him look even bigger. His paws are enormous and he looks like he might have a Bobcat in the family tree. Huge tufts on his ears, too. Toby has just arrived & is still a bit overwhelmed at the experience. He would like to be in a quiet home again like the one he came from. No small kids, please. Toby was previously neutered & has been vaccinated & tested neg for leukemia & FIV. Toby can be seen in the cat room at our Adoption Center in Landenberg Wed-Sat 12-5. Please email for more info or fill out an application.

Adoption fee $50

Samwise is a 4-5 yr old Siamese. Poor guy has been bounced around a bit and needs a furr-ever home. Originally found as a stray in Rehoboth he ended up at the Georgetown SPCA & was transferred up here to the Stanton SPCA where we found him. He was stressed & stopped eating and was sent to a foster home for TLC. When he recovered, Samwise found a home but was returned months later when their cat began attacking him. Another short stay at our adoption center & another adoption & again returned - this time for pottying outside the box. Sam does OK in our cat room although his true purr-sonality comes out when he is in a real home. He is very affectionate & loves attention. Possibly wants to be an only cat. Is fine with dogs and kids too. Sam has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped & tested neg for FIV/Leuk. Please come visit Samwise in our cat room Wed-Sat 12-5 or fill out an application.

Adoption fee $50

Moonbeam is a beautiful black & silver, long-hair kitty with a purr-sonality to match. Our young volunteers pick her up & cradle her like a baby. She is at least 6 yrs old, probably a bit more. Moonbeam gets along great with the other cats here & does not mind dogs. She would enjoy a screened in porch! Moonbeam should fit well into just about any type of family situation (is used to being indoors only). She has been spayed & will be vaccinated & tested prior to adoption. Visit her in our cat room Wed-Sat 12-5 or fill out an application.

Adoption fee $50

Stripes is one cool cat! He landed here when his elderly person was in hospice care. Stripes is no spring chicken himself - approx 11-12 yrs old - and is looking for a retirement home. He is friendly & enjoys being petted. Tolerates the other cats in the cat room & although he had been an only pet, he would be fine in a quiet multi-cat household. Is not fond of dogs but would be OK with dogs that didn't pester him. Stripes has really cool looking ears that go out to the side like airplane wings! Stripes was previously neutered & will be vaccinated & tested prior to adoption. Must be kept as indoors only as that is what he is used to. Come visit Stripes in our Cat Room Wed-Sat 12-5 or fill out an application online.

Adoption fee $50

Theo is a 12 yr old cat but to look at him you would never guess it. He is a BIG laid back guy who enjoys being petted (especially on the spots on his back that he can't reach). He was living in a multi-cat household (one of his friends, Aysha, - black female - is here as well) and would do well in the same or would be fine as an only cat. Is not fond of dogs but could certainly co-exist with a calm dog. This pic is of Theo hiding out in one of the cat trees but his whole body wouldn't fit in the hole! If you are looking for a calm quiet guy who will be happy to see you when you get home from work - you have found him! Or to keep a senior company during the day - Theo is your man! He was previously neutered & has been vaccinated & tested & is ready for a new home of his own. Come visit Theo in our cat room Wed-Sat 12-5 or fill out an application online.

Adoption fee $50

If you are looking for the cat that nobody wants, you have just found him! Tom came to us as a feral kitten with his sister Gerri. Gerri came around & was adopted - Tom did not. Now almost a year old, he remains very shy & although the people that he knows best are able to pick him up, he only puts up with it & is happy to be let go. People he doesn't trust - forget it. Tom is now used to being an indoors cat & might not adjust well to being a barn cat. We are looking for a VERY SPECIAL person to adopt Tom and love him as he is. Tom can be seen in the cat room of our adoption center Wed-Sat 12-5. Email for more info or fill out an application.

Adoption fee will be waived to the purr-fect home.

Buddy is a really cool & personable kitty of approx 3 yrs of age. He is here with his friend Damien (listed separately). They came from a home with 15 cats when the owner fell on hard times. Buddy is very dog-like in his behavior - likes to follow you around. Would do fine in a busy home - not bothered by activity! You can visit him at Concord Pet in New London (on 896 just N of State Rd). Buddy has been neutered, vaccinated, tested neg for leuk/FIV and is ready for a home of his own. Email for more info or fill out an application.

Adoption fee $50 or $75 for both Buddy & Damien.

Don't let the name fool you - this is one nice cat! Damien is a quiet guy who enjoys affection but is not annoying about seeking it out. He and his friend, Buddy (listed separately) came from a home that had 15 cats when their owner fell on hard times. he gets along well with the cats in our cat room and seems fine with dogs as well. Damien has been vaccinated, tested neg for leuk/FIV and is neutered. Would fit well into just aboiut any home from "little old lady" to a family with kids. Visit Damien in our cat room Wed-Sat 12-5. Email for more info or fill out an application.

Adoption fee $50 or $75 for both Buddy & Damien.

Sunshine came to us from the SPCA where she had birthed one tiny kitten. She was a good mommy to her baby, who was adopted by a loving family, and she helped nurse a litter of orphans as well. Now its Mommy's turn to find a loving home of her own. Sunshine doesn't demand a lot of attention. She enjoys being patted but is not comfortable with being picked up & cuddled. Has a favorite spot on the couch at our adoption center. Sunshine is probably not even a year old. She is a small cat & I would guess doesn't weigh over 5 lbs. Can you give this quiet girl a loving lifelong home? Please fill out an application or come meet her at our adoption center Wed-Sat 12-5. Sunshine has been vaccinated, tested neg, spayed & microchipped.

Adoption fee $50.
