Cats for Adoption

Puff-Puff is a sweet medium haired kitty that showed up as a stray. Looks a bit like a Norwegian Forest Cat.

She is approx 5 yrs old. She gets along well with other cats but is wary of dogs. Would be fine in a home with a calm dog. Good with kids. Inside home only.

Adoption donation $50.

Smokey is a cute but shy kitty who has been in our rescue for over a year. She has come out of her shell and we feel she is ready for a home of her own.

Smokey was originally turned into the SPCA because she was afraid of the new dog. In fact, we found her hiding under the newspapers in her cage - scared to death. Smokey has done well in our cat room. Still afraid of dogs but gets along well with other cats.

Would be a great apartment cat. Smokey needs a quiet home without too many visitors - would be great for an older adult. She enjoys being petted and bushed but will take a little time to adjust to your home.

Tony the Tiger was being surrendered to an over full shelter while we happened to be standing in the lobby so we took him home.

Tony is a sweet cat, but he is overwhelmed in his foster home and misses his previous owner. Tony is afraid of dogs, and would prefer a quiet inside home.

Tony is a young adult, approximately one to two years old.

He's been neutered, vaccinated, and has tested negative for Feline Leukemia and AIDS.

Adoption fee is $50

Sammy is a big, good-looking guy! He came to us when his person passed away. When she was ill, her biggest concern was that her Sammy would be thrown out in the street.

Luckily for Sammy, her next-of-kin followed through on her instructions and Sammy came to us. Sammy is approx 9 yrs old. Sammy can be aloof but does enjoy human company. Good with other cats too & doesn't seem concerned about the dogs. Sammy has been neutered & vaccinated & is ready for a new home of his own.

Gracie belonged to an elderly person who passed away. When no one came back for her she wandered down to the neighbors house and deposited her kittens in their garage. The neighbors were elderly themselves and unable to care for Gracie long-term but they made sure the kittens were taken care of and well-socialized before bringing the family to us. Gracie has been a wonderful Mom to her 5 own plus 3 orphan kittens. She is petite, very sweet and will be available mid-October after her spay surgery. She lived with a small dog & gets along well with the dogs at our adoption center. Protective of her kittens around other cats but is mellowing some & will probably be fine with other cats once the kittens are gone.

Gracie is up to date on vaccinations and was tested (negative) for feleuk/aids prior to adoption. Adoption donation $50.

Harley was having some medical problems that caused him to "think outside the box" and his owner was having some medical problems of her own (kidney transplant) and could not keep up with him. Harley had an enlarged bladder & was cryptorchid (i.e. testes not desended.) He was neutered by our vet & the surgery seems to have corrected his bladder problem as well. Harley had a ouple of accidents when he moved into our cat room but has been great since. We think he is happiest with a clean litterbox (perhaps an automatic one?) or with a kitty friend (something he has here but didn't have at his previous home). We realize Harley will be harder to adopt out because of his past but hope that someone out there has a heart big enough to let this very friendly kitty in. Visit Harley at our new adoption center 1499 Flint Hill Rd, Landenberg PA 19350

Rusty (orange, 3 yrs old) & Apollo (tuxedo, 4 yrs old) are two very affectionate cats who were displaced from their home when the new baby was highly allergic. The family tried having them become outdoor cats but they didn't understand & were not happy. Rusty & Apollo want to be a part of your family - sit on the couch & watch TV etc. They both get along well with other cats and can be adopted separately or together (we would like to keep them together if possible but they would do fine if separated).

Adoption donation $50 for one or $75 for the pair.

Cheyenne is one of the many kittens living at our Adoption Center in Landenberg, PA. She was brought in by a man who found her in his yard one day - a hissing ball of fluff! Cheyenne has really come around & enjoys being petted & hanging out with the other kittens. She has received her first set of shots & will be spayed & tested for feleuk/aids by Christmastime. Can you give her a home for the holidays? Come visit her Wed-Sat 12-5 at our Adoption Center!

Chloe's world fell apart when her elderly owner passed away. She lived alone in an empty house for a couple of months until she came to us. It took her a long time to adjust - she hid under the counter for another couple of months - but once she was done her grieving, she came out & is a wonderful cat. She can still be a bit grumpy with the kittens when they get rowdy - she says she's too old for child's play (Chloe is approx 11 yrs old). She doesn't seem to mind the old dogs who hang out in the office with her during the day. It might take her a little while to adjust to a new home but we hope there is a retirement home out there somewhere for Chloe - I can just see her curled up in a big armchair next to a roaring fireplace - could that be your home? Chloe had been spayed at her previous home & we brought her up to date with vaccinations. Please come see her at out adoption center in Landenberg PA.

Mickey is a 13 yr old cat who was brought here when his people moved to a "no pets" apartment. He has a shy personality & is content to watch the goings on of our cat room from atop the cat tree. Gets along with the other cats but pretty much stays to himself. Mickey would love a quiet retirement home of his own. Of course Mickey has been neutered & vaccinated.

Taz is just under a year old & is a great, people-friendly cat! Would make an excellent family pet. Loves kids! Taz was raised with several other cats & dogs but became homeless when his people lost their home & had to move in with relatives. Taz has been neutered, vaccinated, tested neg for leuk/aids.

Smokey is a beautiful steel blue-gray kitten who came in her siblings. She has an identical sister (Misty, who was adopted) & a brother (Magic, who is still available) who is black. We estimate they were born in October 2007. They have received age-appropriate vaccinations, have been tested for leukemia/aids & spayed/neutered & are ready for adoption.

Adoption donation $75 or $100 if you adopt Smokey & Magic together.

These 3 girl kitties just came it - they all have extra toes! 8 months old (4-30-08). A little shy at arrival but are warming up nicely. Polly is a "classic" tabby with a white nose, Dak more resembles a lynx in coloring & Tully falls in between. Will be spayed on 5-1 & available soon after. Also vaccinated & tested neg for leuk/FIV. Please email for more info or fill out an application.

We found Jasper at the SPCA when they were overflowing past capacity & offered him a place at our adoption center. Jasper moved right in like he has always been here - what a laid back guy. Jasper takes everything in stride - other cats, dogs & enjoys watching the guinea pigs. His white coat is very thick & soft albeit a bit dingy now - with time & good nutrition or a nice bath, he will be a gleaming white. Beautiful pale green eyes & a pink nose. Jasper has been neutered, vaccinated & tested neg for leuk/FIV. The SPCA thought he was around a year old - we think he's a bit more mature than that but is still a young adult. Visit Jasper at our adoption center.

Magic is the self-appointed greeter in the lobby of our Landenberg, PA adoption center. We are surprised he hasn't talked anyone into taking him home yet! Magic is about 6 months old & is the brother to Smokey. He gets along well with other cats & the calm dogs that we invite into the lobby. Magic has been neutered, vaccinated, tested neg for fiv/leuk & is ready for a home of his own. Come by & meet Magic & see what a great purr-sonality he has!

Adoption donation $75 or $100 if you adopt Magic & Smokey together

See how small & cute I am! This is me next to Mr. Old Man Lumpy, the office mascot. I am here with 7 my seven siblings waiting until we get spayed & neutered so we can go to new homes of our very own! Our appt for surgery is June 17 & we will be ready for new homes soon after. The people here say if you are going away for the July 4th Holiday they can hold us until you get back. We have had our first kitten shots (series of 3), been wormed and will be tested for FIV/Leukemia when we are spayed/neutered. We are good with other cats & dogs too! Will make a great addition to your family. Come see us at the Landenberg PA Adoption Center!

Adoption donation $100 for one or $150 if you adopt a pair.

Colin & his brother Scaredy were found near a barn, no mother in sight. They were brought here but we were not successful in getting them socialized & they remain semi-feral. Currently about 6 months old. We are able to pat them when they are eating canned food (a treat they get twice a day) but otherwise they run. Colin is a beautiful silver tabby with white medium length hair & Scaredy has the same markings only short hair. If you are looking to adopt that special cat that no one else wants - congrats! You have just found two! These two guys need to be indoors or possibly in a barn-type home where they will continue to be fed by people (not fend for their own). They are attached to each other & we would like them to be able to stay together. Both kitties have been vaccinated, wormed, neutered, tested neg for FIV/Leukemia. They have been living with dogs & other cats. Email for more info. Colin & Scaredy are living in the lobby at our adoption center in Landenberg, PA if you would like to stop by & see them in purr-son.

Adoption donation $50 for the pair.

Samwise (he came to us already named) is a round little siamese cat, approx 3 yr old. He is a quiet guy & still a bit unsure of the activity level of our cat room. He would love a home of his own where he can express himself & come out of his shell. Sam is a gorgeous seal point with crystal blue eyes. Would probably do fine in a multi cat household. Come visit Sam at our Adoption Center in Landenberg PA. Samwise has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested neg for FIV/leukemia & is ready to move in with you!

Not quite sure what kind of a cat Bonnie is - she looks like a long haired Siamese - maybe some of you cat fanciers out there could help us out? Bonnie is a sweet girl - she was turned in to the SPCA in January & immediately came down with an upper respiratory infection. We pulled her out & took her to the vet for an extended stay. She was very, very sick & it took a long time for her to get back on her feet. Bonnie is finally out of isolation & enjoying our cat room. She is a pretty chocolate point girl with crystal blue eyes - the pics don't do her justice. Bonnie seems fine with other cats & likes to play with toys. Bonnie is 2 yrs old & is probably best in a home without small kids. She has been spayed, vaccinated, tested neg for FIV/leukemia & has been microchipped. Come meet her at our adoption center.

Adoption donation $75.

We found KoKo at the SPCA, curled up in his litterbox & not looking very happy. We brought him back to our cat room where he feels more at home & we hope more adoptable! KoKo is a 3 yr old neutered male Himalayan. He has that ragdoll feel - flops in your arms when you pick him up. He had some mats which were cut off so his fur is a bit patchy now but will be beautiful when it grows in. Come visit KoKo in our cat room in Landenberg & see for yourself what a nice purr-sonality he has! KoKo has been vaccinated, tested neg for FIV/Leukemia & microchipped. Ready for a home of his own!

Casey was adopted from us some time ago & recently returned when he reacted badly to the second child being born. Perhaps Casey felt he wasn't getting the attention he deserves? Casey is now at our adoption center, learning to share the attention that is doled out to the multitude of cats there. He is a sweet guy & would like a quiet home, perhaps with an older person who is home most of the day. Casey is approx 7 yrs old. You may visit Casey at our Landenberg, PA adoption center.
